About us- Love Our City Klean (LOCK) is a creative waste management company that is focused on the effective diversion of waste from landfill for minimisation and repurposing.

We have been spearheading separation at source which is the separation of waste into two categories (wet and dry) as we are still introducing this lifestyle we do not want to complicate the separating from household level in order to make it convenient for residents in our community to adopt it for the sole purpose of recovering valuable materials that are clean (high value) not contaminated for their diversion away from landfill to further sort and channel into the appropriate “afterlife”.

LOCK is situated at the Pikitup Bez Valley garden site where we have gained custodianship of the premises from Pikitup for our work in advancing separation at source activities. We have since been repositioning what was known as “the dump” as a Materials Recovery Facility where we call upon: artists, makers, students and community to source materials for upcycling and reuse projects.

We have a community swap shop where residents are educated and encouraged to bring in their recyclable materials twice weekly, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00-14:30 for points which they can then redeem every Friday for groceries with our partners The Peoples Pantry.
